I'm just after reading on Neil Gaiman's blog that Diana Wynne Jones has died. And this is terribly terribly sad. She'll be missed, even by those of us who never had the pleasure of knowing her in person.

This is so strange. I had never heard of Neil Gaiman until today when a patient was telling me about him having a house locally. The patient was a big fan and was trying to get me to read some of his books! Very strange coincidence.
Am I not always saying that coincidences make up the fabric of life or something? This happens to me too all the time - strange! (You should read something by Gaiman, get one of his children's books, they're short.)
